Our company has been going through a transitional phase which had led to some areas not being touched up often as it should be. Blog writing is one of them. Our team loves to discuss about something new and it doesn’t take much to write a short post of something that excited us. Although that will be in the next article when we cool down from another topic we’re now debating on, Blog Commenting Spam.

Now at LUV we think blog commenting is not bad. It’s nice to see people commenting on your thoughts, sharing opinions or even receive a simple appreciation. We all write about something we feel it’s important to us or something we thought that was interesting. So we always let those comments get through us and share some juice with each other. But more and more we’ve been seeing ridiculous spams. Here’s a real quick list of ten.

1. Do they check to see what language the comments are being written in?
2. The same message over and over with the same user name
3. The same message over and over with a different user name
4. General phrase that will match to any topic
5. Telling us something doesn’t work in our website
6. Just flat out advertisement with no consideration
7. All the porn spams
8. Answering a question that’s not related to the topic
9. Using anchor text in the comments
10. Add a user image but with any of the above comments

So do we delete them? Yup!

We also look at the website and what keyword they’re trying to rank for. And if we don’t like them, they get deleted as well. So in the end, we do end up filtering and approving comments. Sometimes there could be hundreds of comments, which then we’ll just keep on deleting them and approving only the one that gets on top.

Now in conclusion, we would like to request all those blog commenting spammers, that at least to take a look at the content you’re spamming. Take a moment and read it, (yes we wish that they can at least do that… but of course we’re just wishing on that star) place a comment that is somewhat relevant and witty is even nicer. Imagine going through the same thing over and over, it’s amusing to see a little wit or even some humor that just interacts with us for a moment.
